RES COUNCIL MINUTES 

October 16, 2024

In Attendance: Hydee Edwards, Jerry Salmon, Julie Vereschagin, Angela Leavitt, Katie Ford -Hofer, Sarah Scaplan, Bailey Kado, Katie Ryan, Erin Salmon, Johlene Blom, Eden Wirzba

Principal’s Business

Optimal Learning Environment:

• Parent involvement  - communication is best involvement, engagement is key, parents’ be engaged in the school themselves with a positive attitude toward the school

School calendar/events

• One book one school - March 
• Numeracy games night - March 12

Ice Cream Social Review

• Went well
• Couldn’t tell how many attended because some parents didn’t take ice cream
• Was a nice change up from serving dinner

Read Local Challenge

• Letting the literacy committee make some decisions on how to move forward

Teacher Appreciation

• Nov 13th
• Basically the same treats as last year
• Will visit each classroom after school council meeting
